Senior Research Associate/Investigator, Translational Chemical Biology

Position Summary:

The Translational Chemical Biology (TCB) team is recruiting a Senior Research Associate / Investigator (level commensurate with experience) to the team. As a TCB scientist, you will be a key contributor to interrogate disease biology and expand the druggable proteome in a modality-agnostic manner.  You will establish collaborations and work very closely with other Roivant scientists and external collaborators to identify, characterize, and enable the prosecution of novel targets and their modulators and characterize the mechanism of action, target engagement and biomarker of therapeutic agents.

Responsibilities

  • Develop translational cellular models of disease, including organoid and co-culture systems aimed at target and biomarker discovery and validation.
  • Optimize and maintain cells in culture and perform drug perturbation experiments
  • Prepare human primary samples (tissue, body fluids) for ‘omic’ analyses
  • Execute standard cellular and molecular biology and biochemistry techniques
  • Compile/analyze experimental data and maintain clear and accurate records of experimental work
  • Work closely with members of the TCB team to coordinate, execute, and present experimental work

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in pharma or biotech applied to chemical biology, cell biology or pharmacology, with expertise and proven track record in implementation and optimization of cell culture models including 3D organoids and/or co-culture systems.
  • Proficient with cell-based assay development and optimization, cell line generation/modification
  • Experience with key cellular and molecular biology techniques including PCR, WB, ELISA, imaging, gene KD/KO with siRNA/Crispr, viral transduction and transfection.
  • Experience with sample handling and processing for chemoproteomics (incl. enrichment and crosslinking) is not a must but preferred
  • Experience with liquid handling laboratory automation is a plus
  • Familiarized with preclinical drug discovery process including target identification and validation
  • Team player with close attention to detail and strong time management skills
  • Strong written and oral communication
